About PostgreSQL
Every Supabase project is a real Postgres database. Row-level security, JSON columns, full-text search, and the ability to drop into raw SQL when an ORM abstraction gets in the way. Our v3 schema uses Postgres features like triggers, check constraints, and JSONB columns for the article blocks table.
Why we use it
Postgres is the most capable open-source database available, with thirty years of production hardening. Anything we build on Supabase is Postgres underneath and we rely on its full feature set.
