About the project
Chile Abierto is a civic data platform that turns 20+ official government datasets into navigable maps, indicator pages, and a data-request pipeline tied to Chile's Ley 20.285 transparency law. Built with Diego Dabed on Next.js 16, Supabase, MapLibre, and the Anthropic SDK to power the Ábaco chatbot. 65 real indicators across 349 comunas, 61,764 measurements in Postgres, and a weekly GitHub Actions pipeline that re-ingests source data every Monday.
Results
Transparency infrastructure at comuna scale
Launched with 23 page templates covering every comuna, 65 indicators sourced from 20 official datasets, a Claude-powered civic Q&A chatbot (Ábaco), a CRM of municipal contacts, and a stealth-mode Ley 20.285 data request workflow. The platform became the reference implementation we now pitch for civic-data engagements.
